This week is a short week due to Thanksgiving, so I sent an invitation to all of my first grade classes to come see my Thanksgiving program even if it wasn’t their regular library day. I was showing One is a Feast for Mouse by Judy Cox and illustrated by Jeffrey Ebbeler.
I downloaded it using the Reading Rainbow App on my iPad. I hooked my iPad up to the projector with an iPad to VGA connector (which I bought with a grant from our PTO). I talked about how Reading Rainbow started as a TV show with Levar Burton reading books and going on field trips. The shows were then made into DVDs which we have several in our video collection in the library. Now Reading Rainbow is an App which can be viewed on an iPad. The App is free and allows you to download 5 free books and watch some of the videos, however, to read unlimited books and videos you need to pay for a subscription. I wore my Reading Rainbow T shirt (which I bought from Urban Outfitters) and had Thanksgiving books on display.
