Ant and Honey Bee: A Pair of Friends in Winter

This past week we read Ant and Honey Bee: A Pair of Friends in Winter by Megan McDonald, illustrated by G. Brian Karas.

In the story, Ant tries to think of  Things to Do in the Winter.    Then Ant and Honey Bee end up making a very large sandwich with lots of unusual ingredients on it. The story ends with Ant and Honey Bee falling asleep as it begins to snow.     After reading the story, we talked about the different types of books that Megan McDonald and Brian Karas have written or illustrated and how we can find them by searching the catalog.   Students then practiced searching the catalog by author (or illustrator) name and filling out a C.A.T. slip (Call #, Author, and Title) for one of their books.
