Let’s Play by Herve Tullet

We just finished having our Fall Book Fair and one of the books that I picked up was Let’s Play .  I showed them his other books – Press Here, Mix It Up! and Help!  I need a Title! before reading Let’s Play.   After reading the book, we talked about similar illustrators like Leo Lionni and Eric Carle as well as artists such as  Picasso and Jackson Pollack.

Our library skill lesson this week was finding books by their Call # (or letters).  Students were given a CAT slip (Call #, Author and Title).

The slip had a Call # of a book in the Easy section of our library. Students were asked to find a book and then to write the author’s full name and the title of one of their books.  We reviewed where the Easy Picture Book section of the library was located and how the books are in alphabetical order by the authors last name.
