This week we read a Halloween/Fall Book. The book was Pinky and Rex and the Perfect Pumpkin by James Howe, illustrated by Melissa Sweet.
We listened to an audio version of the book. We talked about audio books and reasons why listening to a book would be a good choice. After reading the book we shared traditions that we had.

This week was our last week of reading the books that have been nominated for the Buckeye Children’s Book Award. This week’s nominee was Biscuit Loves the Library by Alyssa Satin Capucilli (Biscuit Series). Students then voted for their favorite book.

This week we continued reading the books that have been nominated for the Buckeye Children’s Book Award. This week’s nominee is Adventures of Beekle, the Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat. Prior to reading the book, we reviewed the books we had read for far. This is the fourth book that we have read for the award election.

This week we continued reading the books that have been nominated for the Buckeye Children’s Book Award. This week’s nominee is Please, Mr. Panda by Steve Antony. After reading the book, we talked about why Mr. Panda gave the donuts to the lemur, but not the other animals. I shared with them the true story of the coffee owner who put the sign out with 3 different prices for coffee and then we talked about our local Donut Trail.
